Cantor Gaming played a leading role in creating a market for mobile gaming in Nevada

Mobile Gaming allows customers to play popular games such as blackjack, poker, roulette, baccarat and video slot games in public areas within the casino and resort, excluding guest rooms and parking facilities.

Casinos can turn down-time into revenue generating time by offering customers gaming opportunities in more areas of the resort including the pool deck, bars, and convention centers.

However, the Cantor Mobile Gaming System can offer much more than gaming; subject to regulatory approval it can also offer patrons a full concierge service, through which customers could order drinks and food, show tickets or merchandise, make dining reservations and spa appointments, view their hotel bill, book tours and various additional services.

How it works

A casino customer will obtain their mobile gaming device from designated areas of the casino, such as the cashier’s “cage”, where the customer can also deposit money on account.

The customer can then play the casino style games in approved areas of the property – the “green zones”. If the mobile device is taken to areas in which gaming is prohibited – a “red zone” – the gaming function will be automatically disabled, while the concierge service will remain active.

At the end of a player’s stay they simply return the device and withdraw the balance on their account.

Technical Details

The Cantor Mobile Gaming System utilizes a variety of handheld devices – “off-the-shelf” and custom-made – such as tablet PCs and PDAs. These devices are linked by an 802.11 wi-fi network to a computer server located on the casino property.

All communications between the devices and the server are encrypted with state-of-the-art security procedures. The device’s location is continuously tracked by trained personnel by monitoring a series of wireless access points placed at strategic locations throughout the property.
